The Perfect Derma Peel: What to Expect

True perfection may not exist, but over here in the esthetics world, we’ve gotten pretty dang close. The Perfect Derma Peel is exactly that. This mid-depth chemical peel has become a staple at plenty of studios, and we cannot wait to show you why. If you’re looking for a skincare treatment that offers wonderful results, look no further.

What is the Perfect Derma Peel?

We know it’s hard to keep up with the latest and greatest in skincare technology. We also know that every time the science behind a treatment involves, it’s touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread. But what if that statement were true? What if there is such a thing as the perfect peel?

Who should consider getting the Perfect Derma Peel?

Plenty of skin types can benefit from the Derma Peel, however, those with hyperpigmentation like sun damage, melasma, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may benefit just as much as those with fine lines, uneven texture, and wrinkles. That’s a mouthful, but it’s a big punch in a small package. At Lafrance Aesthetics, we require a consultation before booking this treatment option.

The skin benefits from the Perfect Derma Peel

It’s hard to imagine what perfect skin could even look like. The truth is that everybody's skin has texture, bumps, scarring, and more. The goal is to take care of your skin and enjoy the reduction of those things as an added, healthy byproduct of your choice to engage with high-quality skin care treatments.

But, the Perfect Derma Peel benefits are undeniable. With a collagen boost and elastin supplementation, fine lines and wrinkles become softened. This peel can lighten your skin, slow down aging signs, and ends up producing a more supple, firmer surface thanks to that collagen and elastin boost.

The Perfect Derma Peel vs other chemical peels

The Perfect Derma Peel is unique in that its ingredients are intentional and complementary. Between TCA and vitamin C, it’s hard to deny your skin the opportunity to heal. Kojic acid and salicylic acid carry those ingredients on their backs, making sure they’re delivered in unison and work together to alleviate skin concerns.

What to expect during your Perfect Derma Peel

Skin treatments tend to feel a little more nerve-wracking than they should, which is understandable given how sensitive some skin types are. It’s in our nature to protect our skin as it’s the largest organ in our body, housing the most vulnerable parts of us. If you know what to expect during your session, you’ll have an easier time being comfortable and confident. Let’s review!

Consultation to determine your skin concerns

Your specialist will begin with a consultation to get an idea about what your skin concerns are, what you may need, and if you’re eligible for a Perfect Derma Peel. From that consultation, your esthetician will be able to support your journey and offer products and knowledge throughout your Derma Peel experience.

How your Perfect Derma Peel session will go

During your Derma Peel session, you can expect a slight stinging or tingling sensation where the peel is applied that goes away after 30 to 60 seconds. As the peel begins to work, it starts to penetrate the outer 2 to 3 layers of skin. The entire process only takes about 15 minutes from start to finish!

Around 3 days after your session, thin layers of your skin start to peel. This peeling process lasts until day 6 or 7, on average.

How many sessions will you need to see results from the Perfect Derma Peel?

While results are visible after your first session, for optimal results, you need a few Derma Peel appointments. The average person goes anywhere from 2 to 4 times with four weeks spacing each appointment apart. If you follow this regimen, you’ll be on the right track to achieving the best results.

Perfect Derma Peel aftercare

The good news is that there’s no preparation involved with the Derma Peel. And the aftercare is as simple as can be. When peeling begins, you want to begin applying the Perfect Derma Moisturizer to reduce the visibility of peeling.

Applying this moisturizer to the areas that have been treated from 2 to 3 times per day will control peeling and alleviate the overall tightness that you might feel in your skin. The next day, cleanse your face with a gentle face wash, lukewarm water, and pat dry. You repeat that process for 1 to 2 weeks after healing begins. It’s recommended to avoid excessive sweating and exercise during your skin’s peeling process.
